TOMORROW afternoon sees Droylsden visit Marley Stadium to face Steeton in the NWCFL First Division North.
With the Bloods expected to bring 150 travelling supporters from Greater Manchester, the biggest crowd of the season at Marley is guaranteed and with it only the fifth crowd of over 200 supporters in the Chevvies history.
Throughout this week in the build-up to the game we have had questions and enquires from home supporters, away supporters, and neutrals alike, who are planning to attend Saturday’s game.
As a club we have decided it would be productive to address all questions and enquiries with the following matchday guide to make everyone’s visits to Marley enjoyable.
ADMISSION
Admission prices are set at £6 for Adults, £3 for Concessions, with entry FREE for Under-16’s, Club Chevron Members, and NHS staff.
NHS STAFF
For NHS staff to gain free entry to Marley Stadium, please show either your blue card or NHS staff pass at the turnstile upon entering the ground.
PAYMENT METHODS
Both cash and card are accepted throughout Marley Stadium. This includes the turnstile, inside the clubhouse, and at the food hut.
CAR PARKING
There is ample parking directly outside Marley Stadium and behind the Varley Boilers Stand to the left of the ground.
Disabled parking is located outside the turnstile and main gate of the ground directly opposite the entrance to the car park upon arrival to Marley Stadium.
Should it be required, there is an overflow car park to the right upon entering the car park at Marley.
TURNSTILES
We currently only have one operating turnstile at Marley Stadium, which will be open from 1:30p until half-time.
With a larger crowd than usual expected at the game this weekend, queues may build-up in which instance we ask for patience from those entering the ground.
Cash and card are both accepted at the turnstile.
DISABLED ACCESS
For supporters who require disabled access, please make yourselves known to our turnstile operator and/or the steward at the Emergency Exit located near to the turnstiles upon your arrival to Marley Stadium.
This will allow us to open the appropriate entrance to give you both a quick and hassle free entry into the ground.
Disabled supporters will be located next to the Freightlink Europe Stand with additional spots required within the stand should it rain during the game.
The disabled toilet is located outside of the main ground next to the facilities main office and can be accessed by speaking to your nearest steward to allow exit and re-entry through the emergency exit.
TOILETS
Inside the perimeter of Marley Stadium, there is both a men’s and women’s toilet located within the clubhouse.
With a larger crowd expected, there will be additional men’s and women’s toilets available for use in the same block where the disabled toilet is located next to the facilities main office.
The disabled toilet is located outside of the main ground next to the facilities main office and can be accessed by speaking to your nearest steward to allow exit and re-entry through the emergency exit.
Once more, please locate your nearest steward to ask for exit and re-entry through the emergency exit.
COVERED SPECTATOR AREAS
There is both covered seating and standing available to spectators at Marley Stadium.
The seated area is located immediately in front of supporters upon entry in the ground within the Freightlink Europe Stand.
There are two additional covered areas, both of which are standing, behind the goal to the left of the Freightlink Europe Stand with both the Varley Boilers Stand and Route One End available.
The dugouts side of the ground, opposite the Freightlink Europe stand, and the Bypass End, located behind the goal to the right of the Freightlink Europe stand, are uncovered areas and standing only.
CLUBHOUSE
The clubhouse at Marley Stadium is open on matchdays from 1:30pm to 6pm.
From 1:30pm until half-time, there is only one entrance and exit from the clubhouse which is located behind the Freightlink Europe stand and to the left of the turnstile upon entry into the ground.
From half-time onwards, the car park entrance is also open and can be used to enter and exit the clubhouse.
The clubhouse serves alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and hot drinks.
Lager options include Red Stripe, Madri, and Budweiser, with Guinness and Saltaire Blonde on offer as alcoholic choices.
Strongbow Original and Dark Fruits are available for the Cider Lovers with Heineken Zero providing the alcoholic free option.
Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, and Lucozade Sport (Orange/Raspberry) are available as soft drinks.
Hot drinks include Tea, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate.
Both cash and card are accepted within the clubhouse.
Please note that alcoholic and soft drinks are served in cans and bottles only with any alcoholic drinks being taken outside in view of the pitch having to be poured into plastic pint glasses.
FOOD HUT
The food hut at Marley Stadium is located to the right of the Freightlink Europe stand and near to the players tunnel and will be open from 2pm until shortly after the beginning of the second half.
Serving freshly made pie and peas from club sponsor Chamleys, the food hut also sells Hot Dogs as a hot food alternative.
The hut also sells both hot and soft drinks with the additional option of Bovril and a selection of soups also available for those looking to keep warm.
A selection of crisps, chocolate, and sweets can also be purchased from the hut on matchdays.
With a larger than usual crowd expected, please be patient and respectful in case of a build-up of queues during busy periods throughout the afternoon.
Both cash and card accepted at the food hut.
SMOKING
Smoking of any kind is not permitted within the perimeter of Marley Stadium once you have entered the ground through the turnstiles.
If you do wish to smoke during the game, please ask the nearest steward to allow you to exit and re-enter the ground via the fire exit located to the left of the turnstile where the designated smoking area is located.
DOGS
Dogs are welcome at Marley Stadium but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times and away from the pitch when within the ground.
PROGRAMME AND PIN BADGES
We know that programmes and pin badges, particularly at this level of the game, are keep sakes for supporters and neutrals/groundhoppers who attend games.
Both are available at all matchday’s at Marley Stadium, including tomorrow’s visit of Droylsden.
Programmes, priced at £2, can be purchased both immediately next to the turnstiles following entrance to the ground and also at the bar inside the clubhouse.
Pin Badges are available from the merchandise stall, which is located inside the clubhouse at Marley Stadium.
DRUMS
We received a request for permission to bring a drum into Marley Stadium by Droylsden this week, we can confirm this request has been granted.
We ask the drum is used behind the goals and away from the Freightlink Europe stand area of the ground where the turnstiles, clubhouse entrance, and food hut, is located.
This is to prevent a build-up of supporters in this particular area to allow supporters to move freely and safely around Marley Stadium during the game.
FLAGS AND INFLATABLES
Marley Stadium welcomes both supporters flag and inflatables on matchday.
We ask any flags brought by visiting supporters are hung on the metal fence behind the goal at the Bypass End of the stadium which is to the right of the turnstile and Freightlink Europe Stand upon arrival to the ground.
Inflatables are also welcome but we ask that these are kept within the supporters behind the goal at either end of the ground and do not enter the field of play whilst the match is in progress.
PYROTECHNICS
Pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited at Marley Stadium. We ask supporters to please respect this and not bring any pyrotechnics into the venue.
Finally, we would like to remind supporters that it is a criminal offence to enter the field of play if not prohibited to do so and/or in case of an emergency. Please stay behind the pitch side barriers at all times.
We would like to thank all spectators planning on attending tomorrow’s game for reading this matchday guide ahead of your visit to Marley Stadium and ask for patience in case of any delays as all of our matchday staff at Marley Stadium are volunteers.
We look forward to welcoming you all to Marley Stadium and hope you enjoy your afternoon with us on what promises to be a memorable afternoon off the pitch and hopefully also on the pitch.
