2025/26 NWCFL Cup Competitions Draw

STEETON have today discovered their opposition for the early stages of this season’s NWCFL cup competitions.

Following the 2025 league AGM took place earlier today (21st June) at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool, the draws for the First Round of the Macron Cup and the Preliminary Round and First Round of the Edward Case First Division Challenge Cup.

As a result of finishing 15th in last season’s First Division North, and Route One Rovers lateral move to the NCEL, the Chevrons will enter the Edward Case First Division Challenge Cup at the Preliminary Round Stage.

It is a competition that has historically not been kind to Roy Mason and his side, in fact the club has yet to record a win in the cup since first entering in 2018.

The draw has handed us a home draw against Fulwood Amateurs.

The Preston-based outfit, newly promoted from the West Lancashire Premier Division, will make the trip to Marley Stadium for what could be the first meeting between the sides dependent on the league fixtures.

The winner of the tie will progress to the First Round, where a trip to the Bartons Group Stadium to face Ashton Town awaits.

Last season’s meetings between the two sides saw Steeton snatch a dramatic 89th minute equaliser at Marley before a 2-0 defeat followed in an ill-tempered affair both on and off the pitch in March’s reverse fixture.

The First Round draw of the Macron Cup has handed the Chevvies an away trip to Thornton Cleveleys.

This tie will be played at Gamble Road, where an Owen Williamson goal handed Steeton a 1-0 away victory on Bank Holiday Monday last August.

November’s reverse fixture at Marley saw Steeton defeated 3-4 in a pulsating end-to-end encounter.

Rather fittingly, a trip to the Fylde Coast awaits in the First Round after we defeated Squires Gate 4-2 before exiting in the next round with a 3-2 home loss to Nelson.

Details for all these ties will be confirmed in due course on our website and social media channels.
