Jack Lynn Departs Steeton

STEETON can today confirm the departure of our longest serving player, Jack Lynn.

‘Lynny’ first arrived at Marley Stadium during the Covid pandemic aged just 17 on a youth loan from Bradford City.

From there, he would become a mainstay in the side at left-back before making his move permanent and going on to spend six years with the club prior to his departure last week.

Always playing with a smile on his face and enjoying a laugh off the pitch, all whilst being supported by his family both home and away, Lynn became a true favourite amongst all those associated with the club.

During his time in green and white, Jack made 147 appearances, contributing with 10 goals and 9 assists across that period.

Manager Roy Mason said: “Jack has been a great servant to the club and has been a stalwart in the majority of our journey in the North West Counties.

“I remember Lynny first arriving as a quiet and shy 17-year-old but quickly establishing himself as a popular member of the squad and also as a fan’s favourite.

“His versatility meant he played in a variety of positions for me, and I am gutted as Jack is a lovely lad.

“During the last six years, he has been a real pleasure to manage.”

Steeton would like to wish Jack, and his family, all the very best for his future and thank him for all his efforts and commitment during his time with the club.

Once a Chevvie, always a Chevvie. Thank you Lynny.
