Brad Emmerson Named Goalkeeper of the Month

STEETON are today delighted to announce Brad Emmerson has been awarded the North West Counties Football League Reusch UK Goalkeeper of the Month award for December 2024.

Brad was in sensational form throughout the month as the Chevvies went through December unbeaten, picking up Man of the Match awards in the victory against Route One Rovers and the draw against AFC Blackpool.

Now dubbed “Super Brad Emmo in goal!” by the Chevvies faithful, everyone here at Steeton would like to congratulate Brad on both the award and a phenomenal string of performances between the sticks!

The statement issued by the league in full:

The Goalkeeper of the Month award for the First Division North has gone to Bradley Emmerson of Steeton.

Emmerson played largely in the Northern Counties East League with Albion Sports and Eccleshill United before switching to the NWCFL in 2021/22 when he joined Campion.

He remained with the club when they were laterally moved to the NCEL the following season, helping the Manningham based outfit to a famous double in 2022/23 in which they won the NCEL First Division and the West Riding County Cup.

He moved to Steeton in October after an injury to James Catlow, and has built up a firm understading with his defence in that time leading to a superb December.

The month started with a 1-1 draw at Daisy Hill, where he kept his side a point with a wonderful late save two minutes from time to deny the home side.

He then put in a Man of the Match performance on Boxing Day in a 2-0 away win at Route One Rovers in the derby match.

The final game of the month saw Steeton record another 1-1 on the road, this time at AFC Blackpool, with Bradley putting in a second Man of the Match winning performance inside three days.

Congratulations to Bradley for his performances in the month!
