STEETON have this morning discovered their opposition for the opening month of the 2026/27 season.
The North West Counties Football League has released the seven of our expanded 42 match league campaign as well as confirming the dates for both our First Division Cup Preliminary Round and FA Vase First Qualifying Round ties.
We begin our tenth consecutive season at this level on Saturday 1st August with a visit to the Ginge Power Stadium to face Daisy Hill.
This is followed just three days later on Tuesday 4th August with our opening home fixture at Marley Stadium against the Holker Old Boys.
A brief interlude from league action follows on Saturday 8th August with a first ever meeting with newly-promoted AFC Knowsley as they make the trip to West Yorkshire in the Preliminary Round of the Edward Case First Division Challenge Cup.
The action comes thick and fast as just 72 hours later we welcome Bacup Borough in league action for a third consecutive home fixture.
This is then followed by another hectic ten days in which the Chevrons hit the road for three consecutive outings.
A trip to Cumbria to face Kendal Town of the Northern League comes on Saturday 15th August in the First Qualifying Round of this season’s Isuzu FA Vase.
The following week sees back-to-back visits to the Fylde Coast to face Thornton Cleveleys and Squires Gate respectively in the First Division North.
A busy opening month then concludes as a rare free midweek in the calendar is followed by consecutive home fixtures at Marley against Ashton Town and then finally Darwen FC.
The remainder of the league schedule will be released in late July following confirmation of the fixtures in the Northern Premier League at Step 3 and 4 of the pyramid due to groundshares within the NWCFL.
