Quartet Commits for 2026/27

STEETON are today delighted to announce the first four players who have committed their futures to the club for the 2026/27 season.

Skipper Arley Barnes, fellow defender Keann Shaw, goalkeeper Brad Emmerson, and right sided Macca Smith, have all committed to the club ahead of the new campaign.

A legend both sides of the roundabout in Steeton and Silsden, club captain Arley Barnes will return for the third season of his third spell in green and white.

Leading both on and off the pitch since his return to Steeton in the summer of 2024, ‘Barney’ will be looking to push on after a season which returned 3 goals and 2 assists from 32 appearances at centre-back.

His centre-half partner Keann Shaw will be looking to also build on what was an impressive debut season despite setbacks with both injury and suspension.

Keann registered one goal and three assists in his 24 appearances following his arrival last summer from Oxenhope Recreation.

Behind them in goal is Brad Emmerson, the goalkeeper and fans favourite who has cemented the number one jersey since his arrival in October 2024 from Campion.

Despite missing the majority of the run-in with suspension, Brad again impressed between the sticks for Steeton as he registered five clean sheets whilst also at times keeping his side in games.

The final of the four is Macca Smith, committing to a third season with the club following his arrival in the summer of 2024.

A threat at both ends of the pitch with his defensive capabilities being complemented with his attacking prowess on the right channel, Macca enjoyed 4 goals and 9 assists from right-back in his 33 appearances last season.

Steeton AFC look forward to welcoming the quartet back for pre-season as we hope to push on in season 2026/27.
