STEETON are today delighted to announce the signing of Gregorio Barnett II.
The attacking midfielder, affectionally known as ‘Gee’, arrives at Marley Stadium from the RIASA academy following a successful trial period with the club.
Now a fully fledged Chevvie, he adds another attacking option for manager Roy Mason as the side look to build on the recent run of form to move up the First Division North table.
Born in the state of Louisiana in the United States, Gregorio first caught the eye whilst playing his High School soccer out of the Harding Academy in Memphis.
Being recruited by RIASA, Barnett would initially arrive on these shores in London before re-locating north to Leeds.
Spending last season playing for the RIASA academy side, the winger continued to impress on these shores and arrived at Steeton for a trial in pre-season on the recommendation of a friend of Mason’s.
Impressing during his friendly appearances, Gee was offered a contract with the club.
However, his registration was delayed with international clearance finally arriving in mid-August.
Barnett would then make his competitive debut in green and white in last Saturday’s defeat to Atherton Laburnum Rovers.
