DETAILS for Steeton’s upcoming First Round games in the North West Counties Football League cup competitions have today been confirmed by the league.
July’s league AGM in Blackpool saw the Chevrons draw away in both the First Round of the Macron Cup and the Edward Case First Division Challenge Cup.
The Macron Cup will see Roy Mason and his charges head to Blackpool to face Premier Division outfit Squires Gate whilst the First Division Cup sees the boys in green head to Crilly Park to face fellow Division One North side Atherton Laburnum Rovers.
Our Macron Cup tie against Squires Gate will take place at the Brian Addison Stadium on Tuesday 1st October with a 7:45pm kick-off.
Admission for this fixture is set at £7 for Adults, £4 for Concessions, £2 for Under-16’s and Free for Under-5’s.
Our previous meeting with Squires Gate saw the Chevvies record a 3-2 victory at Marley Stadium in a friendly back in July with our last trip to the Gate coming in July 2023, Steeton emerging 5-2 victors on that afternoon.
Our Edward Case First Division Challenge Cup tie against Atherton Laburnum Rovers will take place at Crilly Park on Tuesday 8th October with a 7:45pm kick-off.
Admission for this game is set at £6 for Adults, £3 for Concessions, and Free for Under-16’s.
Last season’s two meetings against LR saw Steeton fall to a 4-1 defeat in outer Bolton prior to a 1-0 loss at Marley Stadium later in the campaign.
This tie will mark our second trip of the season to Crilly Park with our First Division North league fixture at the venue to take place on Saturday 31st August.
