Veteran centre-half Dan Illingworth has joined the Chevvies for the remainder of the 2024/25 season from Campion.
“Illo” adds much needed experience and leadership to the defensive line following a difficult start to the campaign.
A two-time promotion winner from Step 6, Dan has previously won both the NWCFL First Division North with Silsden and the NCEL Division One with Campion.
Adding to his defensive capabilities with his eye for goal, Illingworth offers a threat at both ends of the pitch.
Manager Roy Mason, who manages his 600th game as Steeton this afternoon, said: “Illo is a player I have admired for a long time.
“A dominant player both in defence and attack, he adds physicality and presence to the side.
“Dan also adds experience and a winning mentality given his previous success at this level in both the NCEL and NWCFL.
“A great character to have in the dressing room, I’m looking forward to welcoming Dan to the club and what he can offer us through the remainder of the season.”
