Salts 0 Steeton 1
A second half strike from Steve Pearson was enough to give Steeton the points in a game that failed to live up to the one played seven days earlier.
With the Keighley Cup final on Friday night, Andy Briggs and Ben Clarkson were both rested as was Ben Richardson. Graham Holmes and Nicky McNally lead the line well to say neither player has had much game time of late.
Salts now await news of an appeal from Golcar regarding an ineligable player to see where the title will end up.
The win coupled with us being awarded three points from Britannia saw us maintain our third place in the league with home games to come against Littletown and Wakefield.
Reserves Finish Season
The reserves finished their season with a 5-3 win at West Horton.
Goals from Will Knight, Greig Hudson, Joe Flaherty, Nicky McNally and Casey Dowthwaite saw the season finish in style.
Steeton 3 Golcar 2
Steeton produced a dramatic late victory after a spirited second half performance.
Golcar went into an early lead, but Ben Clarkson headed home Ben Richardson's corner. The visitors then regained the lead as they were quickest to react as the ball broke loose in the box.
With time running out Josh Eastwood chipped the keeper from 35 yards out and Andy Briggs won it in the 90th minute.
The reserves went down 2-1 at Golcar Reserves in the league cup semi final.
Twelve Goal Thriller
Steeton and Salts shared the points in a 6-6 draw at Summerhill Lane last night.
Goals from Andy Briggs 2, Ben Clarkson, Toby Jeffrey and Steve Pearson saw us race into a 5-1 half time lead after Salts had opened the scoring in the first two minutes.
However the game was turned on it's head and Salts struck an incredible five times in the second half to lead the game 6-5 only for Pearson to head a last minute leveller.
