Steeton were unfortunate to go down to a 5-0 scoreline at Ovenden. Despite creating numerous second half chances, Steeton couldn't convert when they presented themselves. The home keeper made a great save from new signing, Aaron Hollingdrake before the hosts took the lead following a goal mouth scramble. Josh Huntley also went close from close range before the hosts doubled their lead against the run of play. Two controversial goals ended the contest as the referee refused Steeton's offside appeals. A fifth added salt into the wounds for the visitors, who despite having five regulars missing gave a the reigning champions plenty to think about. Jack Richmond enjoyed a fine debut in midfield and Joe Mason was arguably the pick of the debutants with a solid game at right back.

The reserve side drew 1-1 with Ventus Yeadon. Josh Ferguson ensured Andy Fosters first game in charge ended with his sued taking a deserved point. Paul Linyard was back out of retirement to help out and his experience helped a side that was essentially made up of our under 18 side.
