Steeton 1 Hunsworth 2

Mon 30 Mar 2015

Steeton slumped to defeat against Hunsworth on Saturday in what was one of their worst performances of the season. With Michael Rhodes, Tim Hird and Lee Reilly all missing it was a patched up side that faced the Bradford outfit. Matty Kershaw was one of the faces restored to the side as he played his second game in two weeks.

Steeton took the lead just before half time when Sam Rooke stabbed home, but they failed to capitalise on this and the visitors levelled mid way through the second half. Dom Mortimer and Toby Rawcliffe both went close to restoring Steeton's lead before a bizarre own goal saw the visitors snatch an unlikely victory as Joe Mason's clearance struck Sam Rooke and deflected past Josh Brooksbank.

The reserves had no game and the Juniors were denied the chance to clinch the Under 18 title when their game with Albion was postponed. The due have the opportunity to win it tonight when they face Oxenhope at Summerhill Lane.
